It’s hard to believe that two weeks have passed since our last issue of Antigua’s Yachting Insider. The yachting community in Antigua has been busier than ever with a big variety of events taking place – everything from a Laser regatta to a beach clean-up, participation by Antiguan sailors in the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta, a visit by a 130-foot square rigger to Jolly Harbour, and the West Indies Sail Regatta which took place in wild and windy conditions!
And we have a very busy time ahead of us in the coming weeks – the Russians will be returning to Antigua for their annual business sailing week; the Yacht Workers Association will hold its Annual General Meeting tonight; the first Shamrock Regatta will be hosted by Antigua Yacht Club on St. Patrick’s Day; and competent crew and day skipper courses will be held next week.
Conditions seem to have finally settled after a very windy few weeks. But the wind hasn’t gone out of the sails of the Antiguan yachting community and marine industries. There are more children in and on the water swimming and sailing than ever before and new and fun ways continue to be created to showcase the spectacular waters surrounding Antigua that we are all privileged to be able to enjoy on a regular basis. So get outside, take in some sunshine and enjoy Antigua!
